How can I take care of my pet tapeworm?

About 3 months ago I found out that I have a tapeworm in my intestines. My doctor suggested that I get it removed, but the thought of killing such a wonderful creature really disturbs me. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make sure that this little tapeworm (Gordie) will be nurtured with care as I plan on providing for him for a long time. Help me help Gordie please.
