Was I suffering a sugar withdrawal?

I don't eat sugar for every meal but I do consume it one way or another, every day. Today, I didn't eat anything sugary. I had vegetables, fish, and rice. I noticed I had a horrible headache and EXTREME fatigue/drowsiness. I could hardly keep my head up and was staring at the screen and felt dizzy. Then, I decided to have a cherry coke and fries. I instantly felt 95% better, with the exception of a mild headache. Was I dealing with a sugar withdrawal and then when I ate "sugar" it went away? I am trying to wean myself off junk food, but I did this very abruptly, without planning.
