Yet again the Press ( Guardian) questions the Iraq enquiry?
The war in Iraq was really about establishing democracy in the middle east. The powers that be (CIA, FBI, MI5) blieved that establishng a democracy in a volatile region would start a movement that would spread. Obviously they were right. Look how many countries now are fighting to establish democracy. Weapons of mass destruction, dangerous dictators etc. were reasons that could generate popular support to start a war. No one wants to start a war simply to spread democracy, that didn't work out so well in the past. Iraq was the real spark that ignited the Arab spring. That's why we went to war, now only time will tell if it was the right move. Look beyond the "Where were the weapons of mass destruction?" See what the western world was really trying to accomplish.
